What is an LPIS bot?
An LPIS bot is a program that registers you for a course in LPIS at WU Vienna automatically when registration opens. You choose the course in advance and the bot does the click at the decisive moment. Semestria is such an LPIS bot, as a desktop app for macOS and Windows.
Is Semestria an LPIS bot for WU Vienna?
Yes. Semestria registers you for your course in LPIS at WU Vienna automatically when registration opens.
How does an automatic registration work?
You sign in to WU in the app's browser, pick your course by its LV number and start a registration task. When registration opens, Botto registers you. You see the status right in the app.
Does Semestria work with WU's Microsoft login?
Yes. You sign in to WU yourself in the app's browser, including via Microsoft. Botto then continues with that session.
Do I need to be at my computer when registration opens?
No. Keep Semestria open and your computer open and online. Semestria prevents sleep during a registration task.
Which universities are supported?
Semestria currently supports LPIS course enrollment at WU Vienna. The app checks whether your selected enrollment is supported. For other enrollment systems, contact support.
What if a course is missing or the details are outdated?
Sign in to WU and click “Refresh” next to the course search. This loads the list from LPIS again. The app indicates when only part of the list could be checked. Select the course again afterwards. If it is still missing, check in LPIS whether it is available for your account and the intended semester. Refresh is disabled while an enrollment task is active.
No course place
Why are LPIS places gone so fast?
In popular courses far more students want in at the start of registration than there are fixed places. Everyone clicks at once, LPIS slows down, and a few seconds late means no place or a spot on the waiting list.
What can I do if I don't get into a course?
Join the waiting list if the course has one and check parallel groups of the same course. For the next registration, set up your course in Semestria so Botto clicks for you on time.
How do I prepare for the next registration?
Note the LV number, the registration start and suitable alternatives, check the course requirements in LPIS and add the course in Semestria. Before the start, check your WU session in the app and keep the app and your computer open and online.

Which platforms does Semestria support?
Semestria is a desktop app for macOS and Windows. macOS uses a universal installer for Apple Silicon and Intel. Windows uses a 64-bit installer.

Does Semestria run on an Intel Mac?
Yes. The universal installer runs on Macs with Intel and with Apple Silicon from macOS 12.
Does the app need to stay open?
Yes. Keep Semestria open and your device online during the enrollment task. Check your session before starting. A device that is off or asleep cannot perform an enrollment.
Costs and tokens
What can I use for free?
ECTS tracking, grade average, the exam countdown and preparing an enrollment with your preferred course number are free. You only need a token when you start Botto.
What happens to my token if registration fails?
The token is deducted before the task runs. After a confirmed failure or a cancellation before submission you get it back. If it is unclear after submission whether WU accepted the registration, we clarify that first. Details are in the terms (German).
Data and provider
Which data stays local?
Target pages, course numbers, grades, ECTS values and session data are processed locally on your device. Your Semestria account and token purchases are handled by external services. Privacy policy (German)
